Flin Flon Creighton Minor Ball Gets Grant

Congratulations to Flin Flon / Creighton Minor Ball on being awarded a grant courtesy of the Toronto Blue Jays, Field Of Dreams Foundation.

Channa Senyk, the Creighton Recreation Director confirmed that they began the process, two years ago by submitting an application and have been going through  lots of other steps since then.

Creighton will receive just over $30,000.00 and will use the money to fix up the Creighton ball diamond,  which will include replacing the mesh around the field and building two covered dug-outs.

With Covid 19, the Toronto Blue Jays decided they wanted to reach out to minor ball leagues across the country to help with funding on improving ball diamonds.

Jacob Delorme, the 20 year old out of Quebec who has played the majority of games the past two seasons has committed to the Concordia Stingers hockey program, U-Sport.

Delome started 63 games over two seasons with an additional 6 playoff starts and really found a groove in their first round series with Humboldt this past spring.

In three starts, Delorme was 3-0 with a gaa of 2.00 and a sparkling save % of .936. Delorme was very popular on and off the ice and will be greatly missed.

"We are very happy for Jacob and want to wish him all the best. We want all of our players to move on to a higher level but it's a bitter sweet feeling losing Jacob. He has been a big part of our success and a great Bomber for the past two seasons."
