Bombers Add Veteran Goalie

The Flin Flon Bombers have swung a three way deal to land a veteran goaltender from the MJHL.

Mike Reagan confirmed earlier today that they have picked up 19 year old Zac Robidoux from the Portage Terriers.

The Bombers will send Portage the rights to  20 year old forward Jesse Shykaruk, who split time last season between Kamloops and Moose Jaw of the WHL.

The OCN Blizzard are also part of the deal with the Bombers sending  the rights to 20 year old forward Logan Harland to OCN who played a few games  last year with the Bombers and Acadie Bathurst of the QMJHL.

Robidoux will give the Bombers a veteran presence in between the pipes after losing Simon Hofley to a scholorship.

Robidoux comes in with great numbers including a goals against of 1.77 and a Royal Bank Cup Championship under his belt.

Mike Reagan is very excited about this deal " Zac was the winning goalie in the RBC, he is only 19 and will be a 2 year guy. He is 6 foot 3, which we like having a big goal tender. When we lost Simon Hofley, we wanted a guy who was experienced and going to help us win some hockey games."

Robidoux is  expected to be with the Bombers when they open up main camp this Thursday at the Whitney Forum.

The Flin Flon Bombers are just over two weeks away from the start of their Main Camp to kick of the 2015-16 SJHL season.

Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan and his staff were busy this off season making deals and be involved in the first annual SJHL Draft.

One of the deals the team has announced was the acquisition of 1996 born Adam Wison (Edmonton, AB) from the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL in exchange for future considerations.

Wison had seven points (3g, 4a) in 39 games in his rookie season with the Pontiacs.  The 6’3, 203 pounder also had 88 penalty minutes.

“He’s a big body that will play with some grit,” commented Reagan about Wilson.  “He’s a good skater that put up some decent numbers in AAA Midget.”

Wilson and the Bombers will hit the ice for the first time on Thursday September 3 when the team’s Main Camp opens up at the Whitney Forum.

The team will have their first exhibition game on September 5 against the Nipawin Hawks at home.
