A meeting was held Wednesday with representatives from Manitoba Housing to discuss Requests for Proposals to gain government funding and give them the opportunity to partner with local groups in the development of more seniors housing in Flin Flon.
The housing could include low, moderate and co-op units for members 55 years and older. Eligible incomes for occupancy would be up to 48 thousand dollars for a one bedroom and up to 55 thousand for two bedroom units. Money available from the government is up to 75 thousand dollars per unit to a maximum of 35 percent of project costs. It was suggested that a group or company hire a consultant to prepare the RFP in order to have it completed correctly and on time. The deadline for applications is June 10th.
