Next summer promises to be one of the most memorable and historic summers in Flin Flon’s history as we will celebrate 100 years as a community here in Northern Manitoba.
A lot of events are being planned for Flin Flon 27 including Fish Fries, Neighborhood Parties, Flin Flon Bomber Events, Hudbay Celebrations and now the Flin Flon Community Choir is going to resurrect one of their most popular musicals.
Bomber Town written by Mark Kolt will be part of Flin Flon 27 taking place on June 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th. Crystal Kolt says they are very excited to bring back this musical for the big milestone. " The musical is essentially celebrating the 57 Memorial Cup win with our Bombers which was a really huge deal for the community. We tie this story in with the music community, and interestingly enough in 57 that was also when John Vickers really made it big in London England with the London Opera. We had him performing in Flin Flon in 47 and then he went on to international stardpm when the Bombers were competing against the Ottawa Canadiens."
Auditions will begin in late November and rehearsals will start in January. Tickets will be available starting this Saturday online or in person at the Graveyard Gala Show at the Flin Flon Community Hall.
