University College Of The North in conjunction with Norcat and the Northern Manitoba Mining Academy will be presenting a Mining Readiness Program in October.
It takes place at the Northern Manitoba Mining Academy and this is a mine skills training program designed to support learners, strengthen the local workforce and benefit the mining industry.
It will be a 4 week program that will include hands on learning, covering the fundamentals of mining. They will focus in on workforce readiness skills, with a mix of classroom and virtual reality.
The 4 week program will take place in Flin Flon on October the 13th followed by a three week program in Snow Lake starting on November the 11th. The training in Snow Lake will include on site/underground training, tours, job shadowing and safety training.
