The Public Works Committee for the City of Flin Flon continue to be very busy , completing a lot of tasks as they continue to improve the City’s infrastructure.
Work has begun on another water leak in the back lane between Green Street and Centre Street. The repair will require another planned water shut-down early in the week. Once the repair is complete, crews will immediately begin back filling the excavation and restoring the road way.
The Main Street Sidewalk Renewal Project continues to progress very well. Work will resume today after the long weekend in the appearance and long term performance of the sidewalk.
Work continues on North Avenue between the Primary Health Care Centre and Community Hall, where new water and sewer systems are being installed in preparation of the new RCMP Building. The project is expected to last about two weeks.
Planning for the Pine Avenue Bridge replacement continues with the materials being ordered and construction to begin in the next two weeks.
Maple Leaf Construction is excited to announce the up coming start of their Road Rehabilitation Program. They will mill off approximately 4 inches of asphalt before laying down new pavement. During this phase you can expect temporary road closures, detours and traffic delays in various parts of the community.
