The Northern Gateway Museum is open in Denare Beach and they are planning a lot of special events to show case the history of the Village and museum.
One of the events that they are planning is Geology Day this Sunday featuring Geologist John Pearson who will be at the museum to answer questions and give a presentation.
Les Oystrick provides some details on John Pearson’s background. " John was a resident mining recorder in the Creighton office at one time and has worked with a number of mining companies over the years. He has built up an extensive amount og knowledge and is willing to share that knowledge as much as can be shared in a presentation at the museum. The topic of the day will be the volcanic activity that really is the reason why Amisk, Beaver Lake is where it is and what it is."
It takes place between 1 and 7pm this Sunday and John will have his official presentation at 2pm. The museum will be holding other special events this Summer as well, including the Saskatchewan Archaeological Society who will be visiting the museum on August the 28th.
