RE-UZ-IT in Flin Flon made a couple of donations to two local fire departments on Thursday.

A cheque was presented to the Denare Beach Fire Department for $2000.00 to help purchase a new sprinkler. Another $2,000.00 cheque was also presented to the Cranberry Portage Fire Department on behalf of the estate sale for the Schubert family.

Kathy McCormick presented the cheques and mentions how they became involved. " The idea for a Sprinkler Fundraiser came from a fire fighter in Denare Beach. As you know, we opened the building and we donated what ever people  needed from the fire. The fellow that was in the building, I looked at him and said People have been giving us funds towards the items we are donating to them which I didn't expect to receive. I said what does your Fire Department Need? He said, you know we don't have spriklers, we need sprinklers. I said Ok and that is how the Sprinkler Fundraiser came about."

A total of $4000.00 was donated to our local fire departments with the Flin Flon Fire Department receiving $2000.00 last September during their Boot Drive and the Creighton Fire Department also received $2000.00 last November.
