It was another strong and well attended Flin Flon Trout Festival.
The 2026 edition wrapped up this Friday with the Community Barbecue and the Ross Lake Regatta and Fire Works display.
Friday’s Community Barbecue also included the Women’s Resource Centre’s Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event that helps bring awareness on ending violence towards women and girls.
A total of 23 men took part and Creighton Pizza’s Mike Jessup collected the most pledges with a total of $975.00 collected. Travis Buick collected the second most with $626.00 followed by Aaron Beauchamp with $440.00.
Creighton Recreation organized this year’s Canada Day Parade and Eldorado Gold and Foran sponsored the prizes.
Best Commercial Float went to Brown Bear Towing, The Flin Flon Water and The Wild were selected the best group float, while The Flin Flon Bombers showed the most community spirit.
Share In The North 50/50 winner was Joey Werbicki who won $16,00.00 and Derek Abrahamson was the Fish Fry 50/50 winner of $1,307.50.
All the events were well organized and attended and the Trout Festival Committee looks forward to the Summer of 2027 which will include a lot of extra events to commemorate Flin Flon’s Centennial.
