You Can Provide Meaningful Art To Families That Have Lost Their Homes Due To Fire

Art Unexpected 2026 is a community driven initiative supporting families in Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach who have lost their homes to fire.

This group would like provide meaningful art to families to help make the transition into new homes. Jan Modler explains how this group got started.

" It is a project started by a couple of former Flin Flonners out on Vancouver Island who were quite devastated with what happened here with the fire. They wanted to do something that would raise the spirits of people. They are both artists and they thought that perhaps art in a new home makes a house a home. They have been putting a call out to artists who would like to donate original art work that would come here and be given out to people who have lost their homes."

The response has been overwhelming with over 200 pieces of art that has already been donated. Donations are still being accepted, so if you would like to bring people hope, healing and beauty for families starting over they would like to hear from you.

You can drop off your Art Work to Flin Flon City Hall or the Norva Centre and you can contact Jan for more information at 306-688-0188. The Art Work will be distributed during Culture Days on September the 19th.
