On May 4th, Norway House RCMP received a request for assistance from First Nation Safety Officers to attend to a residence in the community.
Officers responded and met with the FNSO’s who were dealing with a complaint when they observed a quantity of cash in the home. The FNSO’s detained five individuals on scene and contacted RCMP for assistance.
A search warrant was drafted and later executed within the residence which led to the seizure of the cash, a loaded 9mm handgun, ammunition, body armor, several knives, pieces of jewelry and numerous electronic devices.
RCMP have charged 25-year-old Brock Mann, from Winnipeg, and 37-year-old Chelsea Queskekapow, from Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation, with Possession of property obtained by crime and numerous firearm-related offences. They were both remanded into custody.
The three other accused, a 38-year-old female, along with a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, all from Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation, were released on Appearance Notices for a future court appearance where they will each face a charge of Possession of property obtained by crime.
