Flin Flon Credit Union And Flin Flon Insurance Have Handed Out Grants

The Flin Flon Credit Union and Flin Flon Insurance kicked off a new season of community enrichment by awarding $12,500.00 in small grants to community groups and projects.

 

The first recipients for 2026 include: The Mile Zero Project – received $1,250 – to assist with the Smeaton to Flin Flon project which highlights the history and highlights of the Hanson Lake Road.

 

Flin Flon Lions Club – received $2,500 – to help provide for replacement of the Handi-Van. McIsaac Parent Advisory Council – received $1000 – to assist with the building of a sheltered outdoor classroom area. Creighton Recreation – received $2500 – for repair and improvements to Collins Street park.

 

Flin Flon Ski Club – received $2500 – to assist with replacement of a trail groomer. Cranberry Portage – Tourism – donation $2500 – for purchase of signage and marketing supplies to promote Cranberry Portages many popular regional events.

 

Since the FFCU created the Community Enrichment Program in 2020 it has now provided $135,250 in cash to local groups, events and businesses to help improve our community. The grant committee is made up of Board and Staff from both the Flin Flon Credit Union and Flin Flon Insurance and they work together to help support great community focused applicants.
