Due to elevated temperatures and extremely dry conditions, a fire ban is now in effect within the City of Flin Flon to help protect public safety and reduce wildfire risk.
Effective immediately:
• All open fires are prohibited and all existing burn permits are cancelled.
• Recreational fires are not permitted, including fires in approved fire pits.
• Fireworks and sky lanterns are strictly prohibited.
• Residents are encouraged to clear debris from around and underneath ATVs and UTVs after use, as dry debris can ignite and create a fire hazard.
Fire ban signage will be posted throughout the community today and will remain in place until the ban is lifted.
This fire ban will remain in effect until significant moisture is received and conditions improve enough to reduce wildfire risk.
The City of Flin Flon appreciates the cooperation of all residents in helping protect our community, property, and surrounding areas.
