The Norva Centre has partnered with Hapnot Collegiate and Many Faces to present an art exhibition of students’ work from the school year. Hapnot Art Instructor and Norva board member Amanda Krouse discusses what is being shown.
“So, the Hapnot Art Show has art from over 80 students from Hapnot, across grades 9 to 12, and also from Many Faces as well. We have everything from painting to a whole variety of multi-media sculpture, and kind of everything in between, like there’s perspective drawings, there’s big stretched canvases that the grade 12’s do, we have beautiful clay sculptures and masks, and from Many faces they have a lot of Indigenous artworks, and they have Piñatas celebrating the Chinese New Year, and there’s a ribbon skirt, and there’s just so much there it’s jam-packed.”
The goal is to promote local art and give students a venue to display their ability. The showing will continue at the Norva Centre -177 Green St until the end of May. Its open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday and viewing of the exhibit is free.
