Flin Flon’s new pool will be known as the Hudbay Aquatic Centre - as was unveiled during a ceremony yesterday. The new facility has strong focus on accessibility and inclusion. It features like ramps and easy-entry with the goals being that everyone—families, seniors, children, and individuals of all abilities—can participate and feel welcome.

“Flin Flon is the heart of our history, and we remain deeply committed to the families who call this region home” said John O’Shaughnessy, Vice President of Hudbay’s Manitoba Business Unit. He went to on to say “Investing in this new aquatic centre is a significant milestone in our century-long partnership. We are proud to help bring this project to life, providing a lasting space for recreation and swimming that will serve the community for generations”

The opening of the Hudbay Aquatic centre to the public will be announced at a later date.
