The Flin Flon Recycling Centre held their AGM and Year End Presentation last week at Johnny’s Social Club.
Among the highlights was the Recycling Centre recognizing some board members and volunteers with community awards. Administrator Deb Odegaard tells us who got recognized this year.
" During the first part of the meeting we honored the Ross Lake Reclamation group as a community organization with environmental goals . We honored our staff member Naomi Rempel who served for six years and Bob Putko a board member who has been serving for six years."
Other highlights from the meeting included the Recycling Centre coming short of their goal in tonnage and are at about 2016 levels in terms of tonnage. They feel this reason is because the town has shrunk and people aren’t using as much paper as they used to. There was a good turn out with a lot of residents attending the meeting which was encouraging.
They did lose two members on their board, but one of the positions has been filled by a member of the Ross Lake Reclamation Group. If you are interested in filling the other board spot you can call Deb at the Recycling Centre at 204-687-6169.
