Since 2021 emergency scams have cost Canadians more than $23 million dollars in losses.
A lot of the people that are being taken advantage of are Seniors including a Grandparents scam that pretends to be family members in crisis.
RCMP are going to be offering some tips and education on scamming to Seniors 55 and over in the Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach and Cranberry area. It takes place on Tuesday March the 31st at the Nortminster Memorial United Church starting at 6pm.
RCMP will be sharing a presentation on how to identify and avoid falling victims to scams.
