It is a very exciting time in Flin Flon which promises to be a very good spring which will include the opening of the brand new Aqua Centre, that just received funding from the Provincial Government.

Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk and Councillor Heather Richardson appeared on the latest City Beat Show on 102.9 CFAR and Funk talked about the new facility. " Very exciting about the pool and I can't say it enough, all the tiling is done inside and we were able to walk into it. The accessibility component, I can't say enough how great this is for our community. One of the biggest questions we get about the pool, is how big is it? Is it the same size as the last pool? Length wize, absolutely it is a 25 metre pool and the only difference of the main bazin of the pool is one lane. The old pool had 5 lanes and this one has four."

There is also going to be diving blocks for competitive swimming, a deep end and the Rec Department is working hard on having some accessibility components for the pool including wheelchair seats for people to float in.
