The Chamber of Commerce in Thompson has passed a resolution requesting the relocation of the Northern Regional Health Authority, CEO and main administration office from Flin Flon back to Thompson by October the 1st of 2026.
The Chamber of Commerce from Flin Flon has concerns about how this would change the landscape of the health region in the North.
Flin Flon Chamber of Commerce President Becky Cianflone comments about the resolution put forward by our northern neighbors. " We were deeply disappointed to see that resolution. We were equally disappointed to hear that the City Of Thompson had also endorsed it. We don't believe that the best approach to economic development for anybody is to attack another community. We belive that having a unified Northern voice is the best way to protect all of our assets and institutions."
The Flin Flon Chamber of Commerce are waiting for a response from the City of Flin Flon and Town of Creighton. The Flin Flon Chamber wants to continue to have good collaboration with the other Chambers especially in the North and want to continue to work with all organizations for the best interests of everyone in the North.
