Flin Flon City Councillor Heather Richardson had a chance to attend the recent Northern Transportation Conference in Winnipeg February the 19th and 20th.
There were over 20 municipalities from across the province that attended and a massive online presence as well.
Richardson appeared on the most recent City Beat program on 102.9 CFAR and shared some of the topics that were discussed. "It was really good as there was a lot on Port Security and Canada Security in general from the Centre of Defense. Things like agreements, the fire which actually affected 190,000 Canadiens that were displaced. Threats, whether it was air, maritime, the war, climate change, melting permafrost. There was lots of talk about different modes of transportation obviously, so air, rail and air ships."
