Daylight Savings Time Returns This Weekend

The Province of Manitoba  reminds residents that Daylight SavingsTime will return to the Province  early Sunday morning when clocks will be moved ahead  one hour.

Under the Official Time Act, daylight time ends on the first Sunday in November and resumes the second Sunday in March.

Daylight saving time will begin this year on March 8, at 2 a.m. local time as the clock springs forward to 3 a.m. local time. While we might lose an hour of sleep by “springing forward,” it also marks the day when evenings grow brighter, mornings feel a little earlier, and everyone is reminded that spring is on the way.

Homeowners are also reminded that when changing clocks, it is a good habit to check both smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to ensure they are in good working order with new batteries, if needed.
