Sandy Bay RCMP have arrested a male wanted on multiple warrants .
From February 16TH to 21st , Sandy Bay RCMP received three reports – two of thefts and one of a robbery – at the same business, as well as one break-in at a community facility.
As a result of investigation into these incidents, 25-year-old Edwin Ballantyne from Sandy Bay was charged with multiple offenses including one count of robbery with a weapon and three counts of theft under $5,000.00,
Multiple warrants for Edwin Ballantyne’s arrest were issued.
On February 23, investigation determined Edwin Ballantyne was in a residence in Sandy Bay. Officers located him hiding in the residence and arrested him without incident.
He was also arrested on a number of arrest warrants, including for assault and failing to comply with probation, related to incidents reported to Sandy Bay RCMP in 2025 and has been remanded into custody.
