Sad news out of the Village Of Denare Beach as long time Mayor Carl Lentowicz has passed away.
Carl passed away this past Sunday February the 22nd with family by his side.
Carl leaves behind a long legacy as he has been the Mayor of Denare Beach since 1997, the past 29 years and prior to that spent three years on Denare Beach Council. Before entering politics Lentowicz was an RCMP Officer and Sergeant for 32 years.
Carl was also well respected across the Province of Saskatchewan and was presented a King Charles the Third Coronation medal a few years back for all he has done for Denare Beach and Northern Saskatchewan.
Lentowicz continued to battle and advocate for all the Denare Beach residents after the horrific wildfire this past summer right til the end.
A tentative funeral is planned for this Saturday at the Denareplex.
