The Construction Of The New Swimming Pool In Flin Flon Is Almost Complete

The opening of the new swimming pool was the big topic of discussion in the most recent City Council meeting.

 

City Council gathered at Council Chambers and the construction of the new swimming pool  is almost complete and is expected to be finished by the end of March.

 

Final costs will be around 24 million dollars with the community only having to pay around 7.4 million, with a 20 year debenture The rest of the costs were covered by grants, fundraising, sponsorship and donations. A big chunk of 2.4 million came from the Manitoba Grow Grant.

 

The City has extended the contract with IT Support Services who will continue to maintain and look after the City’s computer systems for the next three years. The City has also approved Rec Director Cait Bailey to attend the Recreation Manitoba Conference in Winnipeg this Spring.

 

Residents who live in Flin Flon Saskatchewan who have not received their tax benefit letter explaining their benefits are encouraged to contact the City by the end of March. You can stop by City Hall in person or you can also phone them at 833-210-6435.

 

Unfortunately due to bad weather down south, Provincial Finance Minister Adrian Sala will not be able to attend the Town Hall meeting tonight and the meeting has been canceled.
