The Jimmy Custer Memorial Dog Sled Races took place in conjunction with the 47th annual Denare Beach Winter Festival this past weekend.
The weather was perfect and there was an excellent turn out with lots of people that came out to cheer on all the different dog teams.
There were a total of 33 entries between the three classes.
Congratulations to Carl Knudsen of Porcupine Plain who had the fastest time both days in the Main Event- Ten Dog and took home a total of $2,000.00 in prize money.
Brody Sinclair of MacDowall took the top prize in the Six Dog Race and won $1000.00. The youngest racer was Issac Connor who is only 11 and he won the Four Dog Race and $400.00.
The organizers want to thank all the sponsors, volunteers and spectators for their wonderful support and lok forward to the return of the event in 2027.
