The Cranberry Portage Winter Festival will kick off it’s first event this weekend with the Family Fishing Derby this Saturday February the 21st, starting at 10am. The rest of the events will take place the following weekend starting on the 27th.
One of the organizers Barb Bragg is excited about some of the new events which will be taking place this year. " One of our new events this year is going to be a social which is happening at the Curling rink on the Saturday night, the 28th. It is a Flight Night so Calm Air has sponsored a thousand dollar raffle prize to any where they fly. We also have Gordie Monroe and Ryan Smirch who are going to be performing live. It is a night of Kraft beer, Domestic Beer and Wine. This is also the second year we are going to be holding the Makers Market which is a home made, home created event where it is like the Artisan Markets in the Summer time. It is a little bit smaller and curated and it is in the Legion."
There is no entry fee for the Family Fishing Derby and there will be a chance to win a lot of great prizes with hot dogs, hot chocolate and Bombardier rides.
