City Council updated the public on what is happening with the Community Public Safety Committee in their latest council meeting. Mike Slipp is the chair and said that they have reached out to Manitoba Justice to help them get things organized.

Another meeting is planned for early March and are looking for ways to get the public more involved.

The Emergency Management Organization official and Flin Flon Fire Chief Jason Kuras recently met with the EMO of the province to revamp a plan to come up with more asset protection which would include adding trailors with pumps and more protection for fire equipment. Wildfire Risk Assessment will be sending someone up to the Flin Flon area to assess the area as soon as possible and make any recommendations to get ready for fire season.
