On January 22nd, Cumberland House RCMP received a report of an injured person outside a business in Cumberland House.
Officers immediately responded and located an adult male with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. They provided first aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.
Officers determined the suspect was inside a residence in Cumberland House. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team was engaged to assist with his arrest.
Conservation officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch and the Saskatchewan Marshals Service assisted Cumberland House RCMP in maintaining a perimeter around the residence, and were able to arrest the suspect without incident.
As a result, 29-year-old Preston Crane from Cumberland House is charged with: aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm with intent.
He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court today.
