The Flin Flon Neighbourhood Revitalization Corporation held their AGM this past Wednesday at Council Chambers at Flin Flon City Hall.
The Board Chair, Mark Kolt chaired the meeting and shared a lot of information including their mandate, priorities, operations and plans for the future.
Kolt gave the details on their funding which comes from the Provincial Government where they get $25,000.00 each year which gets distributed amongst different charity and volunteer groups in Flin Flon. There is a maximum of $5,000.00 which can be awarded to one particular group.
Grants have been awarded in the past to organizations like the Trout Festival, Culture Days, the Blueberry Jam, the Santa Clause Parade and Wild Things Outdoor Market.
Kolt mentioned that some of the key things they want to focus in on in 2026 include forming a Community Mobilization group which will help local social service agencies and community support organizations work more effectively and more efficiently. They also want to do more community outreach.
If you are part of a volunteer or community group who would like to do something positive in the community you go through the application process by going to their website at ffnrc.wordpress.com or call Lawrence at 204-687-6972.
