Flin Flon City Council is concerned about the amount of crime that is taking place in the community and will be spear heading a Public Safety Wellness Committee.
The committee plans to work with the RCMP and volunteers from the community to get this program up and running as we hear from the chair person Mike Slipp.
“The Public Safety & Wellness Committee is really...is city facilitated but not city whole, because we have, we want public involved too, similar to the Main Street Committee and things like that. So, the Public Safety Committee, there are council on the Public Safety Committee and I chair it, but, it’s more for the Public. We want to get it started, get it rolling and we’ll facilitate as much as we can. We want to change what we’re do work with what we can, you know we’re not gonna go out and fight crime. Although, Sergeant Brushett and I are going around Friday Afternoon to scope out possible places where we can put security cameras.
Slipp appeared on the first City Beat program of 2026 on 102.9 CFAR along with Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk and you can listen to the complete interview on flinflononline.com by clicking on the your radio tab then click on podcasts/Flin Flon Today.
