The Wahkohtowin Trails Committee met for the first time in 2026 last Monday at the Creighton Tourism Office.

Leslie Beck is excited about the progress their group has made the last year and says they are adding new trails all the time." We know that Creighton has some very exciting things coming, they are going to be taking over the Weather Station on the Denare Beach road. We are looking forward to working with them the next few years as they have trails out there. We have partnered with the City of Flin Flon to build a trail between the Victoria Inn and Channing and we are hoping that will also become an all season trail where people will be able to walk to the beach. We have been working with Hudbay again for a parcel of land that is behind the Towers."

The trails are available to people of all ages and are located all over Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. If you would like to get involved and join their committee or would like to volunteer for any of their projects you can reach out to Leslie at 204-680-6089.

Their next meeting is being planned for early February.
