2026 is going to be a big year for Community Futures Greenstone who will mark 40 years of Community Led Economic Development.
General Manager Becky Cianflone is happy to celebrate this milestone in the Flin Flon area. " We are really excited to announce that we are celebrating our 40th anniversary providing community led economic developments in the Flin Flon, Cranberry and Snow Lake regions. The program was announced back in 1986 as part of the Canadian Jobs Strategy. It was really designed for communities who were going through chronic unemployment, major layoffs and adjustment measures with local econimies."
Community Futures Greenstone was one of the first community futures office’s established in Western Canada. The 40th anniversary will be marked throughout 2026 with activities that recognize Greenstone’s history, celebrate community partners and entrepreneurs, and look ahead to the next generation of economic development in Northern Manitoba.
