The Flin Flon Community Choir has received a tremendous honor as they have been selected to perform at Music Fest in Niagara Falls Ontario in May of 2026.

Director Angela Ishaka talks about this tremendous honor. " I just got an e-mail saying that we had been selected to perform and that was very exciting.I knew they would be selecting some people but I really did not know where we would stand in the placings for that. I am very excited and very proud of the choir for all the work they have been doing."

Ishaka  explained that there was a grant that the Manitoba Choral Association applied for  to bring a specialist in  from Edmonton  into many parts of  Manitoba including Flin Flon. He had a two hour workshop with  the Flin Flon Community  Choir  and they sang together and he  showed them what he did. At the end of his tour in Manitoba he made his selections of groups he thought would qualify to go to the festival.
