The Trout Festival AGM took place last Tuesday at the Creighton Recreation and Tourism office.

 

President Dianne Russel  opened the  meeting and  mentioned  it was a difficult year  for the Festival with the cancellation due to wild fires.

 

Thankfully grant funding was extended to accommodate their  situation and most of the events were re-scheduled in August and September.  The Fish Fry was a success and all profits from it were donated to all the Fire Departments in the area. 

 

Discussions were held regarding what  events to run next year including the  Fishing Derby, Parade, Fish Fry, Midway, Makers Market among others.

 

The committee would like to start advertizing on a broader scale including the Free Press or possibly a festival guide and will discuss further at their next meeting. The Trout Festival committee is also looking at collaborating with the Flin Flon 27 Home Coming  committee.

 

The proposed slate of officers for 2026 include Dianne Russell- President, Lindsay Shirran Vice President, Kelsey Andersen Secretary and Elly Spencer Treasurer.

 

The next Trout Festival meeting is planned for early 2026.
