The Saskatchewan government awarded the Premier’s Commendation Award to 64 volunteer and municipal fire departments, and the tribal council partners whose  firefighters  protected communities and supported their  fellow Saskatchewan residents when they were in need during the 2025 wildfire season.

 

Three local fire departments from our area were recognized including Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach. Flin Flon Fire Chief  Jason Kuras,  and Creighton Fire Chief Dwayne Wenger were both in attendance to accept awards on behalf of their fire departments.

 

Denare Beach Fire Chief Seth Fernandez was also invited but was not able to attend.

 

Congratulations to all the recipients across the province including our three local fire departments for their commitment, heroism and dedication in helping saves our communities.

 

The awards were presented at the Saskatchewan Legislature in Regina on Tuesday.
