It was a decent opening weekend for Operation Red Nose in Flin Flon sponsored by the Flin Flon Rotary Club.
Alison Dallas Funk says things went pretty well. " Saturday was our kickoff and we were really excited as Border Explorers came out with 9 volunteers to make sure everyone got home safe in the community. Chicken Chef provided the food for the night and Arctic Beverages the drinks and snacks and that was fantastick. We had 11 rides and many were lake trips and that was good to see many people getting home to the lake and we collected $290.00 in donations."
Next weekend’s volunteer groups include the Flin Flon Ski Club and The North Of 54 Disc Golf Group on Friday night, and Schwarma will provide the food. On Saturday the volunteer groups will include Hudbay and Aurora and Pine providing food for the volunteers.
Hours of operation are 9pm to 2am and don’t forget you need to call them by 1:30am if you are heading out to the lake areas. The number is 204-687-7331 and they still need volunteers for December the 20th and 31st.
