Every November the 25th the Women’s Resource Centre hold their annual Take Back The Night event where they gather together to stand up against violence and protest the fears that women have walking the streets safely.
Hanna Bitner the Youth Councillor would like to see a lot of people from the community come out. " This year we are going to be gathering out at Pioneer Square at 5:15. We have a march that heads down Main street and heads up Angel Avenue and back around. The main reason for this event is to help us shatter the silence around sexual violence, and violence towards women especially in our community."
Anyone wishing to speak or have a loved one spoken about is encouraged to reach out, and they will make posters with their pictures and read speeches that you may have. You can call 204-681-3105.
