CIBC in Flin Flon made three donations to the local fire departments from Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach at their branch on Main Street on Friday.

Local Manager Jody Korte said this is something that they wanted to do ever since residents returned after the evacuation from the wildfires in June. " So our local team here in the Flin Flon branch had approached our corporate office to discuss the possibility of bringing some  funds back into our community. We wanted to have a way to directly impact our local fire departments. So today we are presenting $20,000.00 to the Flin Flon Fire Department and $15,000.00 each to Creighton and Denare Beach."

The Flin Flon Fire Department will be using the funds to purchase a portable pump, Creighton will be looking to purchase a new truck and Denare Beach will use their donation for ice rescue equipment.

CIBC head office also made a donation of $60,000.00 towards the Canadian Red Cross to help out with the wildfires.
