The Flin Flon local Legion Branch number 73 held their annual Remembrance Banquet this past Saturday night at the Legion Hall.
A number of dignitaries were in attendance including Chris Faktor from Hudbay, Flin Flon Mayor George Fontaine, District Governor Bob Penner and Father Paul Bringelson was the special guest speaker.
Among the highlights were the recipients of long service pins. A total of 64 pins were handed out to many people for years of service. 13 pins were handed out for 5 years of service, 5 ten year pins, 6 for 15 years, 11 for 20 years, 5 for 25 tears, 4 for 30 years, 3 for 35 and 4 for 40.
There were 6 pins for 45 years presented to Al Chatfield, Norm Eyres, Carol Frizzell, David Harris, Barry Rainville and Della Roy. 3 pins for 50 years presented to Bentley Busby, Joan Davis and Terry Lofgren. There was also one pin presented to Edward Highfield for 55 years service and one pin presented to Fred Wiliams for 60 years service.
The local branch will now prepare for their Remembrance Day Parade and Service. The Parade will leave the Legion on Tuesday at 9:45am and the service will take place at the Flin Flon Community Hall at 10:45 and
