Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk and Councillor Judy Eagle were guests on the CFAR show City Beat which aired last Wednesday afternoon.
Lots of topics were discussed including the City’s position on the re-zoning of Kingsway Park. " We had an awesome notice from the public and we had almost 80 people there. I think as I recall we had 48 formal notices of objection and those went to the Municipal Government, and we are still waiting to hear back from them. Council did talk this over in great detail a week ago on Tuesday and we came to the unanimous decision that we voted on and passed last night. We are not moving forward with rezoning that area on Kingsway Blvd. We will not be moving ahead with a second reading."
The City held a public hearing to discuss the possible re-zoning of Kingsway Park back in October and Mayor Fontaine mentioned that Council would discuss the happenings from that forum and then render a decision.
