VMS Venture reports considerable progress was made at the Reed Mine near Snow Lake last month.  VMS owns 30 percent of the project with Hudbay owning 70 percent and is the operator.

During the month underground development advanced 217 meters for a total of just under 3 thousand meters, they mined from the first production longhole stope, commissioned a new mine ventilation heater and completed a ventilation raise from the 110 to the 85 meter level.

VMS C.O.O Neil Richardson says the mining of the stope is the start of advancing Reed towards commercial production in the second quarter of this year.  He says the focus in January will remain on safety and continued ramp development.  He adds the project remains on budget and on schedule.
