Our Member of Parliament had a busy year

In a year end release Churchill Member of Parliament Niki Ashton says it was a busy year in the riding as she visited communities all across the riding.  She adds it was also a busy year in the House of Commons with the senate expense scandal that attracted a lot of attention as well as issues like pension reform, the need for a national inquiry into missing and murdered Aboriginal women and most recently the cuts to Canada Post.

Ashton says throughout the year she spoke out on issues of concern to people and communities in our region such as housing, EI cuts, rail safety, maintaining postal services, support for youth programs and other issues and worked with her constituency offices on many individual problems and concerns.

Ashton adds she would like to thank everyone throughout the riding for the support and encouragement she has received wishing everyone all the best in 2014.
