You are reminded to be sober on the roads this holiday season

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson says thousands of Canadians are injured or killed by impaired drivers.  He says the RCMP are continuing their program of enforcement to raise awareness and to stop alcohol and drug impaired drivers.  He adds these are entirely preventable tragedies that have immense costs and devastating effects on our community.  Paulson encourages all Canadians to help change attitudes and behavior and ultimately to save lives.  He says a small decision can have some great consequences, so make the right choice before your get behind the wheel as everyone has the right to come home safe.

The RCMP will continue their check stop program through the holiday season to keep impaired drivers off the road.
