Mail delivery concerns should be passed on to Canada Post

At Tuesday night’s Flin Flon City Council meeting Mayor George Fontaine expressed disappointment in the fact Canada Post plans to stop door to door delivery resulting in the loss of letter carrier jobs adding there is a consequence to losing jobs which affects smaller communities more than bigger centers. He says residents should contact city hall, Canada Post or their member of parliament to express their concern for communities like Flin Flon.  Council will be discussing the idea of contacting Canada Post if there are concerns in the community.

Fontaine congratulated the Community Choir on their recent performance in New York noting they gave us a good name internationally.  He also reported he received a picture from Judy Zimmer of Rotary Park in 1953 noting it’s nice to see the progress made in developing the park over the years.  He said he would like to publicly thank her for the work she has done around the park.

Mayor and Council closed by wishing everybody a Merry Christmas.
