The Wahkohtowin Trails committee continues to work hard to create and maintain walking trails in our area in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
The Wahkohtowin committee needs your help to do some work on the McLeod Bakers Ski trails north of the Flin Flon Airport air strip.
The committee’s Christine Williams explains. " There is a lot of damage, a lot of downed trees from that snowstorm that brought down a lot of Burnt trees that the fire went through. We had Rob McKeen and Doug Gawiak out there with us and they are very excited about getting that cleaned up. That way we can have 5 km of shared use for the ski trail and snowshoe trail for this Winter. In order for that to happen we need some volunteers to show up."
There will two work bees planned for Saturday November the 8th and Saturday November the 15th at 10am. They will meet at the McLeod Trail Head which is between the Northstar road turn off and Sally’s Beach road turn off on the other side of the highway. They will take help from anyone who would like to show up. You are welcome to bring a quad, chainsaw and snippers if you wish.
