The City Of Flin Flon announced a couple of donations at their meeting in Council Chambers on Tuesday night.
The City has approved a $10,000.00 donation to the Flin Flon Firefighters towards their banquet and $25,00.00 towards the Heritage Project to help them update their website.
The new City Bus is almost ready to hit the streets and will be mobile once the cameras are installed. All the cement pads have been finished and the shelters should be put up before the snow flies.
Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk recently attended a AMM Conference in Thompson that included lots of northern communities including Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids, Split Lake, Cranberry and The Pas. The Wildfires were the big topic of discussion including on how to take evacuees and what to prepare for.
Minister Glen Simard the Minister of Northern and Municipal Relations also spoke on a number of topics including finances and municipal funding.
Mayor Fontaine wrapped up the meeting commenting on the recent possible re-zoning of Kingsway Pak and said he was impressed with the way people spoke and the presentations that were made.
Council have not yet made a decision and will be meeting in the next week and will make a statement then.
