It Was A Good Year For The Local SPCA

The local SPCA held their annual general meeting back on October the 15th.

Out going President Nicole Kendrick gave her report and was happy to announce that it was a very successful year even with the evacuation. They had a great year of publicity with their second annual Inflatable Race which was filmed by the CBC for the Still Standing Show.

Nicole went on to thank her staff and volunteers and said they are truly blessed to have such a good work team. They continue to do a very good job finding homes for their animals and are keeping up with their financial goals.

They have undergone some renovations and have some  more in their future with their flooring. They are also looking to make some changes at the shelter for the environment.

Erica Husberg presented the Financial Report and stated that they had a very good year financially. They were able to turn a loss of $12,000.00 at the end of 2023 to a profit of $26,760.00 for 2024.

This was due to a large increase in donations and a successful Inflatable Race Contest which raised over $30,000.00 for the shelter.

Teresa Holloway Gudmundson is the new Manager and the Treasurer and one Board Position remain open and they will hold elections at their next meeting.
