It turned out to be a very trying and difficult summer with the wildfires that surrounded Flin Flon and the neighboring communities this past May and June.

The damage could of been far worse if it weren’t  for the brave fire fighters  and people on the front lines this past summer.

You will have a chance to come out and meet and thank all the firefighters from near and far who came together to protect the communities. The Flin Flon Fire Department will be holding their annual banquet and social this Saturday.

Local firefighter Damian Dominey expects to see lots of firefighters from right across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. " With everything that went on this summer we have some guys coming from various fire departments across the province. We have about 100 confirmed for the banquet on Friday and of course the social afterwords."

The weekend begins with a closed fish fry for the firefighters being put on by the Flin Flon Rotary Club on Friday night. The social will take place at the Community Hall on Saturday starting at 9 with music from the band On Alert. Tickets  are only tem dollars and can be purchased at the Gateway and Northern Rainbows End.
