102.9 CFAR was happy to announce that they were able to make a donation to the Village Of Denare Beach through the contest 100 Grand In Your Hand.

CFAR Manager Dianne Russell commented that even though they had to do the contest later in the summer due to the wildfire evacuation, it was still very successful. " Well we are really happy it turned out because we had to postpone it , we got permission to extend our insurance and be able to run and end it in the fall. We are happy we were able to donate a thousand dollars to Denare Beach, which you never know if we are going to have enough for that, and we are really happy for the 7th year in a row that we were able to do that. We are hoping that it go's to a bit of a geening project but we are not going to stipulate how they spend the money."

Through support from 20 local business’s CFAR was able to deliver the donation. Another four thousand dollars was also  donated to the local fire departments from Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach and Cranberry Portage  through the recent Fish Fry which took place at Chicken Chef.
