Mayor George Fontaine, Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk and councillor Mike Slipp recently attended the AMM Conference in Steinbach which brought together over 30 municipalities from across the province.

Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk was on the CFAR City Beat show last week and  mentioned that the recent  wildfires were a big part of the discussion. " The Wildfires were a huge conversation,  so Mayor Fontaine and myself got up and made a small presentation. We talked about evacuating, our aspect, the barriers, what worked and what didn't. Thompson's Kathy Valentino got up and spoke about preparing, asset protection and the other communities got involved and talked about what do you do with evacuees once they come to your community?"
